Chanel McFarland

I love Wizbots because it promotes exploration of the imagination and self discovery.

Chanel has worked in the field of Education for over four years. Her passion in equipping students with the proper knowledge to become self sufficient, successful adults has led her to a rewarding position that works with developmentally challenged students. As an Instructional Assistant, she has been teaching Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Social Behavior to students in grades 6-8. Chanel is also earning a degree in Psychology. She is happy to be a member of the Wizbots team, and eager to embark on the journey of self discovery with her young inventors.

Joshua Musial

I joined Wizbots to explore the world of robotic engineering and to discover all of the fun things that lie just beyond the imagination.

Joshua is a Behavior Management Technician (BMT) while earning a math degree and teaching credential. As an instructional assistant, he has been teaching math to students in grades K-12. Joshua has also been a recording artist/record producer for twenty years now and has toured the world on stage, radio, and magazine. His interest in design and repair is based on feng shui. Working with youth builds bridges from the past to our future and supports the relationship while they develop.

Judy Cronin

I joined Wizbots because I enjoy helping children learn in a creative environment.

Judy has a Bachelor of Technology from Massey University in New Zealand. She has taught Art-in-Action and helped with small groups in the classroom for many years. As a mother of three girls, Judy has lots of experience as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, helping the girls work on various projects and encouraging them to expand their horizons. She believes that project-based, hands-on learning, and being able to express their creative talents is important for kids. She enjoys children of all ages and engaging them in new experiences. Judy is a long time resident of Redwood City who enjoys tennis, ceramics, orienteering and geocaching.

Karen Sue Rolph

The profound wonder of a child’s mind serves as a foundation for those of us who look upon children with spontaneous joy. The mentor’s joy is apparent, inspires a child to love learning, and sparks life interests, giving them meaning and form.

Having established a field school for indigenous children in the Peruvian Andes, Karen Sue has studied, researched, and taught in the education sector for several years. She is especially interested in diversity, disparity, and gender in education, and has done demographic studies on how early life influences educational outcomes. Karen believes all children are gifted, and through creative expression, the child discovers those gifts. Dr. Rolph holds advanced degrees in behavioral sciences from Stanford, and earned a B.S. from the University of California at Berkeley. She has children, enjoys badminton, and advocates for Wikipedia and social outreach projects.

Raphy Mahpour

Give a child a robot and feed their attention for a day. Teach a child to innovate utilizing robotics and feed that child for a lifetime - adapted ancient Chinese Proverb

Raphael Mahpour is a recipient of the Academic Excellence Award from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he completed his degree with honors in both Psychology and Art History with an architecture and environment emphasis. He has lectured on the utilization of new technologies at local Silicon Valley chapters of BOMA and Chambers of Commerce. He also holds the position of Productions Director at the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Social Media Club. When he’s not working, he’s usually found somewhere his bots have difficulty getting to: surfing the stellar waves of the Coastal Bay Area.

Sahid Sesay

It is great to be part of the Wizbots experience... kids problem solving, collaborating, programming and building in a fun and safe manner while experimenting.

Sahid Sesay is the inventor of the GPAC System and was responsible for incorporating ETCorp to further develop and commercialise the GPAC System. Sahid is a successful entrepreneur with the drive to achieve and deliver real value to his stakeholders. In the field of commercialisation and start-ups he is self taught with real experience as the founder and driving force behind a Silicon Valley based start up.

Timur Crone

I love Wizbots because it is such a fun and engaging way to learn.

Timur is currently working on an MA in Counseling Psychology. He is also working at CHAC (Community Health Awareness Council) interning as a therapist with elementary and high school kids. Timur also has enjoyed creating his own model of running through his twelve years of experience as a competitive runner and martial arts training. The joy of creativity and the process of gradually finding new ways to learn and grow are close to his heart, and he is excited to have the opportunity to share that with the kids of Wizbots.
