Nothing is Cooler in the Summer than Hot Robotics!
Fun. Robots. Creativity. That's what Wizbots Summer Camps are all about! All camps include the use of computers, LEGO® Mindstorms NXT robotics equipment, motors, sensors, arts & craft supplies and other unique building materials. With lots of fun projects and exciting themes, boys and girls, alike, enjoy learning all kinds of new skills and exercising their imaginations. History shows that our campers never want to leave! Our all new themes for Summer 2012 include:
*Robots In Space*
Ever wonder what it takes to be a NASA engineer? Here’s your chance to design and build robots for space exploration! Learn what it takes to explore Mars, operate the Space Station, and colonize the Lunar Surface. Use computers, motors, sensors and diverse building materials to create robotic systems to help the Space Program. Find yourself creating your own Mars Rover, Moon Buggie, Space Lab or Lander. These are just some of the great projects inspired by space exploration. As the grand finale, you will get to test your powers of ingenuity and creativity on a special challenge mission!
*Robolympics*
Five days of camp. Five robotic competitions. Challenge yourself and others in a series of robot challenges and head-to-head competitions. All in a spirit of wild fun and great sportsmanship! Events will include Racing, Rope Climbing, Launching, Lifting, and Combat. The grand finale is our community favorite event, Wizball, followed by a special awards ceremony!
*Crazy Contraptions*
Apply your creativity and ingenuity with exceptional robotics and building materials to construct fantastically over-engineered Rube-Goldberg Machines: complicated contraptions to do simple things, made famous by the great cartoonist Rube Goldberg. Build a series of crazy contraptions of ever increasing complexity and see how quickly you advance your skills in structures, mechanisms and programming. As the grand finale, work together with all kids in the camp to construct the single, craziest machine ever!
*Dynamic Designs*
Ever wondered what it is like to design a product? Work with a buddy to create interactive physical things designed for people, animals or whatever catches your interest. Prepare and present a 30 second commercial for each of your designs. To get really creative, breathe life (and robotics) into your imagination to make animated puppets, characters, sculptures, animal displays, and more. Unleash your creativity on a variety of open-ended projects that integrate artistic talent and engineering to create unique presentations and performances. The grand finale is a Gallery Exhibit of Dynamic Designs for your parents to see and enjoy!
